APRIL 2007

Well, Callum’s cough and cold that kept coming and going finally developed into croup.  We ended up with an early hours trip to A&E as he was struggling to get his breath.  He was a pitiful sight on the hospital bed in his jammies and cuddling his Fimbo and Tigger.  After being on a nebuliser and oxygen for a couple of hours, he was much better and was sent home to rest.

Fortunately Callum recovered in time for his Daddies 40th birthday celebrations.  We were having the party the weekend prior to his actual birthday to avoid having to have it midweek.

When Anna Marie and Paul arrived you would have thought that it was Callum’s birthday… they came with armfuls of gifts and Easter treats from them, Kirsty & Scott and Auntie Lynn & Uncle Brian.  The gifts included a real fireman’s helmet which his Uncle Brian had collected during his years as a fire-fighter.  Check out the Photo Gallery.

Shaun’s party went really well.  Admittedly a few people who we had counted on coming didn’t arrive, and the DJ was a little more subdued than we had hoped, but overall it went ok.  We had a table magician going around performing card tricks and ‘slight of hand’ tricks to guests.  He was fantastic and went down really well.  If you ever fancy booking something like this, try Martin… he’s only young, but he is really, really good.  http://www.robinsonmagic.co.uk.

A few days after Shaun’s party we joined my Mum & Dad at the caravan for an Easter Break.  The weather was stunning… sun burn at Easter in the UK!  We decided to take Callum into the mini zoo at Sewerby, he loved it.  He was particularly fond of the penguins who were very affectionate.  Some of them would stroll up and down wanting to be stroked by passers-by.  Callum loved putting his arm through the gate to give them a love.

Just lately Callum has taken to wanting bread and butter with every meal… he is almost addicted!  Quite fitting then that Shaun should change jobs this month and take up his new position at Warburton’s!

Callum’s first week at Nursery has gone well.  I have no problems leaving him there, he is fine.  I wasn’t looking forward to giving up our Friday mornings together though.  That first Friday I got him ready with a heavy heart, trying not to show how disappointed I was to feel like I was loosing out to Nursery.  Imagine my frustration when we got to school to find out that the water was off and so the school was closed!  Typical, we could have been in my bed having Friday cuddles!!  We decided to make the most of the morning seeing as we were up anyway and went to Funalot’s indoor play centre.  Callum loves that place… he’s gonna love it even more when we move house in a few months and end up living just a few houses down from there!

Callum had his first proper haircut at the Barbers this month… he was devastated!  He cried all the way through poor kid.  He looked so grown up afterwards with his spikey cut, but he hasn’t let us spike it since!

Well, time to go.

See ya,

Amanda & Co. xXx
