NOVEMBER 2007 Our little boy is 4…. We can’t believe it! Callum chose to have his birthday party at Funalot’s. There were plenty of kids there to celebrate with him, as well as the usual friends, he loved being able to invite some of the children from nursery. He was a little disappointed that Luke would not be there though, but Luke is a bit old for Funalot’s now. So what we did was arrange to have a little family tea party in the evening so that Callum could see Luke. We combined it with the annual fireworks at my Mum and Dad’s to celebrate Bonfire Night. On Bonfire Night itself me and Callum stayed home… Shaun was working and Callum was not interested in going out as a lot of the very loud fireworks still frighten him. With Bonfire Night out of the way, it seems the shops felt free to turn instantly festive. Santa arrived at Victoria Garden Centre and Callum wanted to go see him. So, me and my Mum took him. Callum queued for ages outside the grotto, then when we got inside we did the pretend sleigh ride and then joined the inside queue. He was so excited. I soon realised (as we were only two kids from the door) that some of the dancing about was down to more than just being excited! He obviously needed a wee. There was no obvious way back out without going through Santa’s room, and we had already been queuing for almost an hour. I daren’t ask if he wanted to go as he was hanging on the best he could and I didn't want to tempt fate! Eventually the time came to see Santa. Callum was awestruck. I must admit, Santa had really made an effort with his outfit… it was a beautiful set of robes. Callum chatted and told Santa he wanted a Flying Scotsman for Christmas. At the end of the session Santa gave Callum a small gift and we left. When we came out I asked Callum if he needed to go to the toilet, of course the answer was yes and we legged it as fast as we could. I can’t believe he managed to hold it for so long! Callum did his first ever sponsored fundraiser this month. It was a picture based activity that he had to do and then colour in. He raised £25 for Marie Curie Cancer Care which went towards the £800+ raised by the morning and afternoon Nurseries. I think the kids did well! Well, there’s not really much more to report this month, so I’ll sign off for now. ‘Til next time, Amanda xXx
