OCTOBER 2005

Well, with September over and all the illnesses behind us, October was a calm month in comparison!

Callum’s cousin Luke was 10 this month, and so we went to Pizza Hut to celebrate, we all had a really good time.  Callum loves spending time with Luke.

This wasn’t the only birthday being celebrated this month as my Gran also had her birthday (39 again!).

Callum’s top canines are now through properly, so he is a little more settled.  I can’t make my mind up whether the bottom canines are on their way yet.  I suppose time will tell.

Callum's social life seems to be dipping a little these days… but only because it is now dark much earlier and definitely colder, so there’s not so many of our friends playing out at teatime.  I dare say that it is just par for the course at this time of year.

As for talking, Callum is starting to use words much more than he did before.  He’s still got a long way to go, but he is progressing nicely.  He starts pre-school next month, so I suspect that this will bring him along in leaps and bounds.

I can’t believe that my little baby boy is 2 years old next month… the time really does go so very quickly.  Our Niece (and one of Callum’s Supporting Adults), Anna-Marie, and her husband came all the way from Luton to pay us a surprise visit this month, they also dropped off a birthday present for Callum.  Spoilt as usual!  It was great to see them.

Callum had a problem with a water infection this month; the GP reckons he may need a little snip of an operation if you know what I mean.  So he has been given some antibiotics and been referred for an appointment at the hospital to see a urologist.

Of course, October sees the festivities of Halloween.  Normally we go over to see our friends, Rob, Sue and the kids in Wakefield, but this year we called it off at the last minute as they had family over.  So, we decided to dress Callum in his “Anarchy and Chaos” boiler suit, stick some eyeliner and a hat on him and take him out to catch up with his friends who were already out (Joseph, Lucy and Courtney).  With the aid of our mobile phones we managed to track them down.  Callum didn’t do much in the way of ‘halloweening’, but he enjoyed watching the others.  We let him go to one or two houses… but they did not answer the door.  The others gave Callum some of their treats to reward his efforts in catching up with them.  See the pics in the Photo Gallery and the one at the top of this page.

Well, ‘til next month.

See ya,

Amanda xXx
